»Into the Future« Mapping

Facade mapping on the Kaufbeuren town hall

“Kaufbeuren shines” is the light art project of StadtKultur and takes place every year in November. In 2020 and 2021 it had to be cancelled due to the Corona pandemic, but for 2022 Betty Mü had the honour of filling the project with new life.

Her large-scale façade projection “INTO THE FUTURE” on Kaufbeuern’s town hall was therefore intended to inspire positivity and confidence in these not entirely easy times. The artist was concerned in the best sense with optimistic visions and a certain spirit of departure, but always in harmony with nature.

So she also integrated landmarks from the Allgäu, a region the artist cherished and which she enjoyed visiting as a child. In a way, “INTO THE FUTURE” also represents a very personal look into the past. The installation offers a retrospective of her abstract works in a condensed form.
