»Das ICH und das WIR«
Installation in Erinnerung an die Montagsdemonstrationen '89
Was bedeutet es, als Einzelner in der Gruppe zu wirken? Was verbindet unsere Gesellschaft heute? Für welche Zukunftsthemen müssen wir uns engagieren? Die Installation »Das ICH und das WIR« wirft grundsätzliche Fragen auf.
Von außen erinnert sie an ein überdimensionales begehbares Kaleidoskop: insgesamt elf Meter lang, in der Form eines Hexagons gebaut und mit Spiegeln sowie LED-Screens versehen.
Die Besucher*innen bewegen sich durch diesen Lichttunnel, wodurch dieser gewissermaßen zum Leben erwacht: Das Selbstbild des Individuums fragmentiert und multipliziert sich zu einer Menschenmenge, animierte grafische und typokinetische Elemente sowie eine Klangwelt aus Sounds und Stimmen ergänzen das immersive Erlebnis. Die eingespielten Statements entstanden in einem interdisziplinären Workshop mit Studierenden.
Im Zentrum der Installation steht das »Wir« von »Wir sind das Volk«, der bekanntesten Parole aus dem Herbst ‘89. Wir können verändern. Wir sind die Hoffnung. Wir sind die Zukunft. Jeder einzelne von uns. Mit ihrer Installation liefert Betty Mü ein leidenschaftliches Plädoyer für gelebte Nachhaltigkeit und gesellschaftliches Engagement.
