Highlights of the Berlin Light Festival

Large-scale mapping on Berlin 5-star hotel

The Berlin Festival of Lights has been considered one of the best light festivals in the world for almost two decades. “The place to be” is the centrally located Bebelplatz with the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, St. Hedwig’s Cathedral and the Hotel de Rome, all of which are fantastically illuminated.

With her mapping “Liquid Garden” on the 5-star Hotel de Rome, Betty Mü brought a unique garden of diversity to the city: luminous flowers and blossoms that multiply, reflect and blend harmoniously. Natural elements that disintegrate into abstract color spectra, flower power that flows together into surreal maelstroms.

The interplay between hand-filmed footage and abstract animations resulted in an installation that was able to bring the magic of nature and the idea of diversity right into the heart of Berlin.
